The shape

ARRIVE — static touch, several deep breaths, silence. Let her land before you begin.

WORK — the service itself. Re-drape as you move; warmth is part of the experience.

CLOSE — deep breaths with gentle compressive movements. Re-drape fully. The chime.

FOLLOW UP — the Recommendation Form. Water. Say something specific.

What it is

Upper- or lower-body focused massage with warming oil, a heat pack, a muscle balm and stretching.

60 minutes targets upper or lower body; 90 minutes is full body with one focused area.

⚠ Menu and training sheet name the balm differently — one product or two is unresolved.

Family: RESTORATIVE.

The most equipment and product of any restorative service, and the only one with stretching built in as standard.

What it feels like

Active. She is moved rather than only worked on.

Protocol

Step 1 Opening Ritual • 1 min

Invite several deep breaths as you apply static touch to the shoulders.

Step 2 Myofascial Release • 2–5 min per area

Apply compression and cross-fiber techniques to loosen superficial fascial restrictions.

Myofascial work is traditionally performed without lubricant to maintain the friction needed for fascial mobilization.

Step 3 Passive Stretching • 2–5 min per area

Apply passive stretching techniques to decompress joints and reset range of motion.

Use hold-and-release techniques to allow the muscular tissue to neurologically reset — do not force the stretch.

Step 4 Focused Massage • time varies per guest need

Apply EIR Warming Oil. Use firm gliding and kneading to target restricted muscular tissue.

Work at the depth that the myofascial and stretch phases have prepared the tissue for — you should require less force than in a standard deep tissue session.

Step 5 Heat & Cold Therapy (90-min) • as indicated

Heat Pack: Apply to back or legs as appropriate. Allow tissue to absorb warmth before continuing massage on that area.

Cryoball or Cold Marble Stones: Apply to areas of swelling, inflammation, or joint irritation. Work the surrounding tissue while cold is applied.

Step 6 Closing Ritual • 1 min

Guide deep breaths with gentle compressive elongation. Re-drape fully.

Conclude with the energy-balancing chime.

Step 7 Guest Follow-Up • 1–3 min

Complete Recommendation Form and offer water.

Retail Suggestions: Large hot/cold body wrap, dual pack of hot/cold packs.

Service Suggestions: Sauna, The Grounding Stone.

Therapist reminders

EIR oil is contraindicated for pregnancy due to arnica and black pepper. Always confirm pregnancy status at intake.

Myofascial work without lubricant first — then oil for the massage phase. Don't skip the sequencing.

Hold-and-release stretching is neurological, not mechanical. Wait for the muscle to soften, then move — don't push.

The heat pack is a therapeutic tool, not an amenity. Choose where to apply it based on clinical need.

The Reformer is PALOMA's most technically layered service. Guests who experience it well become long-term guests.

Products

EIR NYC Heating Massage Oil — Arnica & Black Pepper

EIR NYC is a clean performance and recovery brand rooted in functional botanicals. Their Heating Massage Oil was formulated specifically for therapeutic massage — combining naturopathic pain relief (arnica), circulatory activation (black pepper), and anti-inflammatory healing (calendula, comfrey) in a nourishing multi-oil base. Applied warm, it prepares tissue for deeper work without requiring aggressive pressure.

Menthol Topical

Applied to areas of acute inflammation or heat in the tissue. The cooling effect of menthol activates cold receptors in the skin, naturally reducing the perception of pain and calming inflamed tissue before massage begins.

Heat Pack (Large or Small)

Applied to the back or leg area prior to or during massage. Warmth loosens superficial fascial layers, allowing the therapist to penetrate into the deeper tissue with significantly less pressure. Used in 90-minute format or as clinically indicated.

Cryoball or Cold Marble Stones

Applied to areas of inflammation and swelling. Cold therapy constricts blood vessels, reduces tissue swelling, and calms acutely inflamed joints or soft tissue. Used in the 90-minute format or wherever the therapist identifies active inflammation.

What is in them

Arnica Montana — The premier botanical for pain relief — stimulates the body's natural healing process, reduces bruising, alleviates soreness from sprains, strains, and deep muscular overuse. A cornerstone of naturopathic medicine

Black Pepper (Piper nigrum) — Creates a warming, vasodilating effect on local tissue — increases blood flow, drives deeper absorption of other actives, and produces a therapeutic heating sensation that prepares the muscle for deeper work

Calendula Extract — Potently anti-inflammatory; reduces post-massage sensitivity and swelling; skin-healing and soothing — particularly effective on overworked, tender tissue

Comfrey-Infused Olive Oil — Comfrey contains allantoin, which promotes cell proliferation and connective tissue repair; the olive oil base is deeply nourishing and anti-inflammatory

Cypress Essential Oil — A natural diuretic; helps the body reduce excess water retention and fluid buildup in soft tissue — useful in post-event or post-injury recovery work

Sweet Almond Oil — Lightweight and rich in oleic acid; excellent glide for massage without over-lubrication; highly compatible with sensitive and reactive skin

Jojoba Oil — Structurally similar to skin's natural sebum; balances oil production, absorbs without clogging pores, and extends the therapeutic life of the blend on the skin

Rosemary Extract — Antioxidant and circulatory stimulant; supports tissue oxygenation and extends the shelf stability of the formula

Contraindications

History of or current Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)

Pregnancy — contraindicated due to arnica and black pepper in the EIR oil

Injury within 48 hours of the session

What we say about it

“The warming oil I'm using today contains arnica — one of the most effective natural pain relievers used in naturopathic medicine. It's been used for centuries to heal sore muscles and reduce inflammation.”

“Black pepper in this oil creates a heating sensation that's therapeutic, not just warming — it's increasing circulation to your tissue and preparing it for deeper work.”

“The sequence we're doing today — fascia first, then stretch, then massage — is intentional. We're working with your body's layers in the order they need to be addressed.”

“The heat pack isn't just comfort — it's loosening the fascial layers so I can work more deeply without needing to use force.”

“If any area feels too warm or too cold, let me know immediately.”
