ARRIVE — static touch, several deep breaths, silence. Let her land before you begin.
WORK — the service itself. Re-drape as you move; warmth is part of the experience.
CLOSE — deep breaths with gentle compressive movements. Re-drape fully. The chime.
FOLLOW UP — the Recommendation Form. Water. Say something specific.
Taught in the Academy →Swedish massage. Long, fluid strokes at light to medium pressure.
PALOMA's foundational ritual — the one most guests meet first.
Family: RELAXING.
Against every other massage on the menu: the least done to her. No equipment, no heat, no product beyond oil. The differences elsewhere are usually things added to this shape.
Taught in the Academy →Unhurried and familiar. The service a guest pictures when she says the word massage.
Step 1 Opening Ritual • 1 min
Invite the guest to take several deep breaths as you apply static touch to the shoulders.
Allow a moment of silence — let the guest arrive fully before any movement begins.
Step 2 Swedish Massage — Full Body • 3–8 min per area
Apply techniques in long, fluid movements. The goal is to sedate the nervous system, not stimulate it — avoid short, choppy strokes.
Effleurage and gliding should form the foundation of this ritual. Kneading may be incorporated where tension is present.
Work each area with intention. Drape and re-drape as you move — warmth is part of the experience.
Step 3 Closing Ritual • 1 min
Guide the guest through several deep breaths while applying gentle compressive movements to elongate the tissue.
Re-drape the guest fully. Conclude with the energy-balancing chime.
Step 4 Guest Follow-Up • 1–3 min
Complete the Recommendation Form and offer additional water.
Retail Suggestions: Hot/cold body wrap, dual pack of hot/cold packs.
Service Suggestions: Meditation, Sauna, The Himalayan (upgrade path).
This is often a guest's first massage. Your pacing, tone, and transitions set the standard for all of PALOMA.
Effleurage is the anchor. Every deeper technique should begin and end in long, gliding strokes.
The Paloma is the natural upgrade path to The Himalayan — plant that seed during follow-up.
Hot towel and aromatherapy add-ons integrate seamlessly — be prepared to suggest them.
Unrefined Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is one of nature's most effective massage mediums — deeply moisturizing, naturally antibacterial, and skin-compatible enough for even the most sensitive guests. Rich in medium-chain fatty acids, it absorbs without leaving a heavy residue, nourishes the skin during the session, and glides fluidly enough to allow the long, sustained strokes that define Swedish technique.
Lauric Acid (C12) — The primary fatty acid in coconut oil — antifungal, antibacterial, and deeply hydrating; supports the skin's natural barrier function
Caprylic & Capric Acids — Medium-chain fatty acids that absorb readily into skin without clogging pores; leave a silky, non-greasy finish
Vitamin E (Tocopherol) — A powerful antioxidant that protects the skin from free radical damage and supports skin healing
Natural Saturated Fats — Create the smooth, sustained glide that makes coconut oil ideal for Swedish effleurage — it moves with the stroke, not against it

“We use unrefined coconut oil — it's one of the purest, most skin-compatible carriers you'll find.”
“The long strokes of Swedish massage aren't just relaxing — they stimulate your lymphatic system, improve circulation, and trigger the release of serotonin and dopamine.”
“This is the perfect first massage if you've never had one — we start gentle and let your body tell us where it needs more attention.”
