When she can book

Pre-natal: after her first trimester.

Post-natal: from 4 to 6 weeks after a natural birth, or 8 weeks after a C-section, or once her doctor has cleared her.

No doctor's note is needed. Let her therapist know at intake.

What it feels like

Careful, and built around comfort more than around technique.

Protocol

Step 1 Opening Ritual • 1 min

Invite the guest to take several deep breaths as you apply static touch to the shoulders.

Confirm comfort of current position and offer adjustment before beginning.

Step 2 Swedish Massage — Full Body (Modified) • 5–10 min per area

Apply HATCH Belly Oil or coconut oil as your primary massage medium. Long, fluid effleurage strokes throughout.

Avoid deep pressure on the lumbar area, ankles, and feet at all times with prenatal guests.

Re-drape each area to maintain warmth and comfort. Check positioning proactively.

Step 3 HATCH Down Girl — Legs & Feet

After massaging the legs and feet, apply a small amount of Down Girl and lightly massage in.

Prepare the guest verbally for the slight cooling sensation before application.

Step 4 Belly Oil Offering

Put 1–3 pumps of HATCH Belly Oil in a small bowl. Offer to the guest to self-apply to the belly, bust, or buttocks after the session.

This is a powerful and meaningful ritual for expectant mothers — offer it with warmth and intention.

Step 5 Closing Ritual • 1 min

Guide several deep breaths with gentle compressive movements. Re-drape fully.

Conclude with the energy-balancing chime.

Step 6 Guest Follow-Up • 1–3 min

Complete Recommendation Form and offer water.

Retail Suggestions: HATCH products — Belly Oil, Down Girl, and other mama-safe items.

Service Suggestions: Meditation.

Therapist reminders

Confirm gestational age or postpartum timeline at intake — every time. No exceptions.

Positioning changes after 28 weeks. Know the trimester before the guest gets on the table.

Avoid deep lumbar work, ankle pressure, and foot pressure on all prenatal guests — these can stimulate contractions.

If adding aromatherapy, only UMA Pure Bliss is safe for expectant mothers. Do not use other blends.

The belly oil offering at the end of the session is meaningful ritual — not an afterthought. Do it with presence.

Cupping is safe for expectant mothers if the entire core area is avoided.

Products

HATCH Belly Oil

HATCH is a brand founded specifically for mothers — every product is formulated with maternal safety as the primary criteria: dermatologist-approved, allergy-tested, plant-derived, vegan, and free from ingredients contraindicated in pregnancy. The Belly Oil is a quick-dry botanical formula designed to deeply hydrate and support skin as it stretches, reducing the appearance of stretch marks and scars both during pregnancy and beyond.

HATCH Down Girl — Cooling Leg + Foot Gel

A plant-based, gel-formulated cooling treatment for swollen ankles, legs, and feet — one of the most common and uncomfortable complaints of pregnancy. Formulated with ginger, mint, and aloe vera to deliver instant cooling relief, reduce puffiness, and calm the tired lower limbs that carry so much extra weight during pregnancy. The slight cooling sensation is expected and intentional — prepare the guest for this.

What is in them

Jojoba Seed Oil — Mimics the skin's natural sebum — absorbs without greasiness; used throughout pregnancy to keep rapidly stretching skin supple and resilient

Argan Oil — Rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids; one of the most reparative botanical oils for skin elasticity and scar reduction

Rosehip Fruit Oil — High in vitamin A (retinoids) and omega fatty acids; clinically shown to reduce hyperpigmentation, scarring, and stretch marks over time

Sweet Almond Oil — Soothing, non-irritating, and rich in vitamin E; ideal for sensitive pregnancy skin; reduces itching as the belly expands

Olive Oil — Deeply nourishing and rich in squalene, which mimics the skin's natural lipid layer; supports barrier function during skin stretching

Calendula Flower Extract — Gently anti-inflammatory and skin-healing; renowned for soothing rashes, irritation, and the itchy skin that accompanies rapid stretching

Grapefruit Oil — Antioxidant-rich; adds a light brightening effect and a subtle, uplifting citrus scent that is safe for pregnancy

Vitamin E (Tocopherol) — The gold-standard for stretch mark prevention; protects skin from free radical damage and promotes cellular regeneration

Aloe Vera — The primary soothing agent; deeply hydrating, anti-inflammatory, and cooling on contact; accelerates the gel's relief effect on swollen tissue

Ginger Extract — A natural circulatory stimulant — improves venous return from the legs to reduce fluid pooling; anti-inflammatory and warming beneath the cooling surface sensation

Mint (Menthol) — Activates cold receptors in the skin to create immediate cooling relief; naturally analgesic — reduces the aching sensation in tired, swollen legs

Chamomile Extract — Calming and anti-inflammatory; reduces redness and irritation in sensitive pregnancy skin; pairs with aloe to extend the soothing effect

What we say about it

“Everything we use today was formulated specifically for mamas — nothing in these products is contraindicated for pregnancy. You're in safe hands.”

“The Belly Oil contains rosehip and argan — two of the most researched botanicals for preventing and reducing stretch marks. It works best with consistent daily use after your session.”

“The Down Girl gel will feel cool — that's intentional. It's activating cold receptors to give your legs immediate relief while ginger works to improve circulation from the inside.”

“If aromatherapy is being added to this session, only UMA Pure Bliss is safe for expectant mothers. All other blends are not appropriate.”
